Billy C Boxing Contest - 8/5/2014

For TBCB's latest entry in the Boxing With Billy C fight predictions contest, we've simmed the fights listed below 100 times each. We've offered a brief summary of each fight based on the simulations, or you can read the entire summary of all the fights (Part1,Part2), which includes a lot of in-depth detail.

  • Jesse Carradine vs Omar Douglas: Douglas had his way with Carradine finishing 73-15-11 (10). Most of his work found approval by the judges as he only netted 12 stoppage victories. Carradine didn't manifest any power either. Only two of his fifteen wins were inside the distance.
  • Cornelius Lock vs William Gonzalez: Gonzalez was the walk away winner here with an 80 to 18 edge in victories. He copped 45 decisions, 38 unanimously. Couple with these were 35 inside the distance wins, 26 by straight KO. Gonzalez had a huge (125 to 21) edge in knockdowns scored. Four of Lock's five stoppage wins came on swellingog cuts.
  • Rola el Halabi vs Victoria Cisneros: Halabi kept the home crowd happy defending her laurels 71 to 25. She scored the only inside the distance wins with six. She also netted forty more decisons. Cisneros could only muster 6 of the 35 knockdowns. The judges were kept busy with these two fighters.
  • Johan Perez vs Fernando Monte de Oca: Perez came out on top here 71 to 23. 58 of his wins were by decision, 40 more than Monte de Oca. Perez more than doubled the number of knockdowns, 67 to 32. This earned him a 13 to 5 edge in stoppage victories. Everything went his way.
  • Michael Hunter vs Jerry Forrest: This was a dead heat. Results came out 40-40-20, a first. Hunter got the nod by dint of his five stoppage victories, two more than Forrest. He also had a 29 to 25 edge in knockdowns scored. Both men scored 24 unanimous decisions, and left very little to distinguish one of them from the other.
  • kid Galahad vs Fred Mundraby: Galahad's quest for the vacant Commonwealth (British Empire) super bantamweight title was successful here. He topped Mundraby 71 to 19. Only eleven inside the distance wins were scored by these two men, Galahad earning one more than Mundraby. The judges awarded 65 fights to Galahad, 43 unanimously.
  • Martin Gethin vs Derry Matthews: Gethin was unable to withstand Matthews with results going 16-79-5 against him. One half of the fights was decided unanimously in favor of Mathews who netted 60 decisions in all. He also scored 19 stoppage wins. Mathews also had a 76 to 18 edge in knockdowns scored. Very little went Gethin's way in this match up.
  • Donnie Nietes vs Moises Fuentes: Nietes emerged as the winner of this duke, 54 to 28. He had 9 of the 11 stoppage wins. He scored 22 of the 37 knockdowns. These bouts averaged 11.27 rounds giving the judges plenty of responsibility, Nietes netted 45 decisions. His 26 unanimous equalled the total of decisions awarded to Fuentes.
  • Amir Imam vs Yordenis Ugas: Iman came out on top in aclose match, 48 to 39. 44 of these wins came via decision. Ugas, in turn, notched 35 decions. This was where the difference lay because each man could only net four stoppage victories.
  • Bermaine Stiverne vs Chris Arreola: Stiverne emerged as the victor by a two to one margin, 64 to 31. 59 of his wins were by decision. He was stopped nine times in Arreola's 22 victories. Stiverne nearly doubled the number of knockdowns 80 to 41.
