Billy C Boxing Contest - 24/1/2014

For TBCB's latest entry in the Boxing With Billy C fight predictions contest, we've simmed the fights listed below 100 times each. We've offered a brief summary of each fight based on the simulations, or you can read the entire summary of all the fights, which includes a lot of in-depth detail. Thomas Williams vs. Cornelius White: Look for White to be the decisive winner here. Not only did he come out victorious in 82 of the sims, but he won 66 of them via stoppage (38 KOs, 28 TKOs), for an average of 6.24 rounds per win (4.85 rounds per stoppage win, on average).
Marco Huck vs. Firat Arslan: This is an evenly matched contest that will very likely go the distance. Huck won 55 of the simmed fights, 38 of them by decision (30 unanimous) and 17 by stoppage (3 KOs, 14 TKOs), for an average of 10.24 rounds per victory. Arslan won 38 fights, 25 of them by decision (16 unanimous) and 13 by stoppage (2 KOs, 11 TKOs). The weighting toward decisions and TKOs tells us that this will be a slugfest that will come down to a decision. Another telling factor: Huck had 46 knockdowns to Arslan’s 32.
Joey Dawejko vs. Derric Rossy: Rossy will easily win this one, since he came out on top in 89 of the fights. He won 53 of them by decision (43 unanimous) and 36 by stoppage (19 KOs, 17 TKOs), for an average of 9.61 rounds per victory, so look for him to stop Rossy in the late rounds.
Joey Hernandez vs. Cornelius Bundrage: With 60 wins, Bundrage is projected to win this one, but not without Hernandez likely trading punches with him until the end. Bundrage won 41 times by decision (32 unanimous) compared to just 19 wins by stoppage (6 KOs, 13 TKOs).
Wilky Campfort vs. Decarlo Perez: Campfort, whose name sounds like a turn-of-the-20th-century baseball player’s name, will prevail, given his 61 simmed wins, but since 45 of those were by decision, and just 30 of those were unanimous, he’ll need help from the judges to do so.
Venroy July vs. Sevdail Sherifi: Sherifi should not only win but could very well end this one in the middle to late rounds, since 26 of his 58 wins were by stoppage (11 KOs, 15 TKOs) and his average rounds per win were 9.83. Of his 32 wins by decision, 24 were unanimous, so if he needs to go the distance, look for a split decision.
Miguel Angel Garcia vs. Juan Carlos Burgos: Garcia took just 55 of the simmed fights, but with an average rounds per win of 9.73 and a nearly even split between decisions (29 (27 unanimous)) and stoppages (26 (8 KOs, 18 TKOs)), he could stop Burgos in the late rounds. Another telling stat: Garcia had 108 knockdowns in the 100 simmed fights, compared to 57 for Burgos. If Burgos prevails, though, look for a TKO to sneak through in the early rounds. His average rounds per win were actually lower than Garcia’s, at 9.07, thanks to the 22 stoppages among his 44 wins (5 KOs, 17 TKOs).
Lamont Peterson vs. Dierry Jean: Peterson has the clear edge, given his 65 wins, but with an average of 11.11 rounds per win and 53 of his victories coming by decision (47 unanimous), he will almost certainly go the distance.
Antonio Orozco vs. Miguel Angel Huerta: Orozco won 60 times, nearly equally split between decisions (32, 26 of them unanimous) and stoppages (28 (15 KOs, 13 TKOs)).
Curtis Stevens vs. Patrick Majewski: Majewski’s edge in total wins may be slight, given his 55 simmed victories, but he’s favored to end this one by TKO in the middle to later rounds, since 32 of his wins were by stoppage (8 KOs, 24 TKOs). Interestingly, Stevens’ numbers were similar, with 19 of his 41 wins coming by stoppage (4 KOs, 15 TKOs). Knockdowns scored during the 100 fights were almost equal, at 45-42 in favor of Majewski.
