Billy C Boxing Contest - 12/12/2013

For TBCB's latest entry in the Boxing With Billy C fight predictions contest, we've simmed the fights listed below 100 times each. We've offered a brief summary of each fight based on the simulations, or you can read the entire summary of all the fights, which includes a lot of in-depth detail.

  • Josesito Lopez vs. Mike Arnaoutis: Lopez has the edge here, having won 53 of the simulated bouts to Arnaoutis’ 40 victories. However, it looks like Lopez will need to go the distance, since 39 of his 53 wins ended in decisions (27 unanimous). If Arnaoutis wins, he could go either way: He won 21 decisions (just 10 were unanimous) and 19 stoppages (3 KOs, 16 TKOs).
  • Adrien Briner vs. Marcos Rene Maidana: Look for Broner to win this one, since he scored 59 victories to Maidana’s 36. He’ll likely need to go all the way, though, since 36 of his wins were decisions (31 unanimous).
  • Amir Mansour vs. Kelvin Price: Mansour won’t have any problem winning this one and will likely end it early. He won a dominating 72 fights, 45 of them via stoppage (22 KOs, 23 TKOs), for an average of 8.5 rounds per win.
  • Gamalier Rodriguez vs. Aldimar Silva Santos: Rodriguez will also easily take care of his opponent, given his 72 wins, but he’s more likely to do so via a decision, since 41 of his victories came that way (32 unanimous). Of his 31 wins via stoppage, 19 were KOs and 12 were TKOs.
  • Leo Santa Cruz vs. Cesar Seda: This is another fight with a clear winner, given Santa Cruz’s 73 victories. He won 47 by decision (40 unanimous), so look for him to go the distance.
  • Keith Thurman vs. Jesus Soto-Karass: Thurman should win, since he took 68 of the simulated bouts, but give the edge to a decision, since he won 38 times that way (31 unanimous). Of his 30 wins via stoppage, 26 were TKOs.
  • Beibut Shumenov vs. Tomas Kovacs: This fight will be no problem for Shumenov, who won 83 fights, 54 through stoppage (13 KOs, 41 TKOs). He needed an average of just 8.36 rounds per victory.
  • Ryan Coyne vs. Lionell Thompson: Coyne should emerge the winner, since he won 58 of the fights, but Thompson will make him work for it: He took 47 of the wins by decision (36 unanimous), giving him an average of 11.36 rounds per win, which is on the high side. Of his 11 wins by stoppage, 10 were TKOs, so don’t expect him to deliver a clean knockout.
  • Marcus Vinicius De Oliveira vs. Juergen Braehmer: This fight is the most lopsided of the week. Braehmer won an overwhelming 93 of the fights, 69 of them via stoppage (32 KOs, 37 TKOs), for an average of 8.55 rounds per victory.
  • Shane Cameron vs. Brian Minto: Cameron should have no problem with his opponent, since he won 78 of the fights, 36 via decision (33 unanimous) and 42 through stoppage (10 KOs, 32 TKOs).
  • Prince Doku Jr. vs. Frankie Gomez: While Gomez’s win total wasn’t overwhelming (77 victories), his 46 wins by stoppage, for an average of 8.43 rounds per triumph, tells us he will dominate his opponent early. Interestingly, 34 of his wins by stoppage were TKOs, vs. 12 KOs, and 22 of those were due to the referee’s decision, so this may be halted early.
